Webcasting and Multimedia Archives

Trig Consulting specialises in the use of streaming media to present audio or video over the internet. Recent developments in encoding technologies mean that even video can now be received at an acceptable quality over a standard 56k modem. When integrated with web pages, slideshows, text or advertising messages, a powerful communication medium is created.

Webcasting uses the web to broadcast seminars, press launches, sales briefings, lectures and so on, over the internet. Audience reach is not limited by geography; nor by time if the event is recorded for later replay.

Although webcasting is a one-way broadcasting process, Trig has a number of simple practical solutions to allow feedback to the presenters. For example, a press conference could take moderated questions from the audience on the internet, sent from their browsers. Thus a broadcast can be turned into an interactive event.

Recordings of events, whether webcasts or not, can be turned into multimedia archives, synchronising sound, video, text, advertising, web pages, images...These can be organised at various levels of security, from open access to tightly locked-down records with IP address and password authentification.

Trig will organise all aspects of webcasting and multimedia archives, including:
  • building a web site
  • recording and encoding audio or video
  • preparing images
  • synchronising all the multimedia elements
  • hosting and support
Trig provides advice on the appropriateness of different solutions and can offer complete turnkey projects.
